Dr. Robert B. Peak
A patient once told me, “I wasn’t born in Texas, but got here as soon as I could.” Well, that is true of me as well. After completing high school here, graduate from the University of Texas, and marrying a Texan, I knew I was hooked. After attending the University of Tennessee for my surgical residency, I was fortunate to land in Fort Worth in 1994. Fort Worth offered the big city culture with a small-town ambience, and was filled with a caring and generous atmosphere, one that I hoped to follow in my practice of oral and maxillofacial surgery. I bring over thirty years experience to each patient and treat all with humility and compassion as if they were a member of my own family.
Practicing in Fort Worth has allowed me the opportunity for community outreach programs. I helped set up the Salt & Light Dental clinic, a nonprofit nestled under First Presbyterian Church Fort Worth over twenty years ago and serve as the clinical director. In addition, I am one of only a small handful of dedicated private practice surgeons taking part in trauma and hospital call at Level I trauma centers Harris Methodist Fort Worth and Cook Children’s Medical Center, wherein I am also the director of oral and maxillofacial surgery. I am honored to be part of such a giving community and strongly feel our efforts can make a difference to our underserved neighbors.
Board certification is the culmination of hard studies and dedication, and I achieved the status of fellow in the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons in 1996. Although not actively taking part, I instructed dental students and oral surgery residents for many years at Texas A&M Dental School in Dallas. Not one to rest on my laurels, I attend many hours of continuing education annually.
Oral and maxillofacial surgery offers the beauty of restoring form and function, and I never tire of the moments when my team can make a difference in someone’s life. I don’t take this charge lightly and am sincere when I say it is a privilege to treat you.
